Description:

Exploring paths Japanese companies should take as the knowledge economy advances to the next stage

The Japanese economy has lost momentum for the 30 years since the burst of the bubble, and the global presence of Japanese companies continues to recede. While Japanese companies are stagnant, the knowledge-based economy is entering a new phase triggered by recent technological advancement such as AI. It is a transition from "Knowledge Economy 1.0" to "Knowledge Economy 2.0".

Leading-edge global companies are playing a part in the creation of "Knowledge Economy 2.0" and are intensifying competition to ride the next wave of great economic benefits. Can Japanese companies seize this major environmental change, find business opportunities, and take advantage of them?

At this symposium, we will (1) understand "Knowledge Economy 2.0", (2) reveal the deep seated problems of Japanese companies that once succeeded in the industrial economy, and (3) explore possibilities of organizational structure and management methodology for Japanese companies to resurface and shine in the coming new era.

We look forward to the participation of the following managers and executives.

Large companies and medium-sized companies struggling to create new businesses

SMEs that want to put the company on the next stage of development

Startup companies that want to achieve rapid growth
